POSITION: Volunteer – Software Developer
We are seeking a committed and passionate ICT Volunteer to support our software
development and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have hands-on
skills in Flutter, with additional experience in React and Node.js considered a strong
advantage. This role is suited for a proactive individual eager to grow professionally while
contributing to impactful ICT projects.


Department: ICT Department
Location: Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union (UCSCU Head Office – Maganjo)
Reports to: ICT Manager / Systems Officer
Engagement Type: Full-Time Volunteer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of mobile and web applications.
  • Build user-friendly interfaces using Flutter and (optionally) React.
  • Support backend development tasks using Node.js (optional but an advantage).
  • Participate in system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with the ICT team to design and implement digital solutions.
  • Document application features, updates, and technical procedures.
  • Provide technical support to internal users where needed.
  • Contribute to innovation in the ICT department through research and new ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in any ICT-related field, including:
    • Information Technology
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
  • Information Systems or related fields
  • Strong practical knowledge of Flutter (mobile app development).
  • Knowledge of React and Node.js is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Ability to work full-time as a volunteer.
