6th National SACCO Conference

“REBUILDING SACCO RESILIENCE IN A CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENT”

SACCO sustainability has for over the years been threatened by various factors both internal and external. The Union under its mandate ensures Modelling and re-modelling of this operating environment.

The sector has lately experienced two major changes that have shaken the walls of a number of SACCOs in different ways and the effect has taken different dimensions as well as the degree of effect. To those that built strong risk walls did not find much problem and instead took advantage of the situation as compared to their counterparts.

It is against this background that the Union has organized a National SACCO Conference under the;

Theme: “Rebuilding SACCO Resilience in a Challenging Environment”

Conference Overall objective:
The conference seeks to: “Rebuild SACCO risk walls and Resilience amidst a challenged environment”.

Specific objectives

• Analyze the importance of Social Audit for SACCOs
• Assess the impact of regulations on SACCO governance.
• Evaluate the investment options for financial Cooperatives.

Approach/Methodology/Outline

• The conference shall be presented in 4 sessions;
• Keynote address: Rebuilding SACCO Resilience amidst in a challenging environment”.

Conference topics:

• The importance of Social Audit for SACCOs
• SACCO Governance in a regulated environment
• Investment options for Financial Cooperatives

Conference Fees?

• Member SACCOs will pay Ugx. 170,000 per participant
• Non-Member SACCOs will pay Ugx. 200,000 per participant
