10th Annual National SACCO Conference

UCSU AT 50 YEARS, ‘PUTTING MEMBERS FIRST’

Introduction                                               

Uganda Cooperatives Savings and Credit Union the national apex for SACCOs in Uganda was formed way back in 1972 with  mandate to promote and empower the SACCO sector in Uganda. The Union has for the last 50 years  strived to deliver on this through  provision of high quality specialized financial and non-financial services for their sustainability.

To date the cooperative sector in Uganda has increasingly registered popularity all over, steady fast growth, and a number of milestones in transforming communities and the country’s economy at large. At this point in time we want to take stock of the 50 years impact at both social and economic measure at individual member, institutional and the national grid. In other wards the cooperative has a dual purpose aiming at delivering on member welfare.  

This year’s National conference has purposed to reflect on the journey so far, discuss the strategies to consolidate the achievements, address challenges and how to move on.                                    

Conference Overall objective:                           

 To examine the impact of SACCO’s on member welfare for the last 50 years in Uganda.

 Conference specific Objectives;

1. Discuss the role of Regulation, Supervision and Licensing in engendering  impactful cooperatives services
2. Explore the strategies to Foster Impactful member centric service delivery
3. Discuss Stakeholder management/engagement for effective member service
4. Discuss inclusive service delivery in  Cooperatives

Conference Fees?

Participation will be at a fee worth Ugx. 200,000 & Ugx. 250,000 per participant for members and non members respectively.
